A multi-talented artist, François Sagat began his career studying design at prestigious studios such as Thierry Mugler and Nicolas Ghesquière, before starring in a number of auteur films, including those by Christophe Honoré and Bruce La Bruce. This was followed by numerous collaborations with photographers David Armstrong, Ali Mahdavi, Pierre et Gilles and Terry Richardson.
Music naturally joined his artistic path: after a first track in duet with Sylvia Gobbel entitled Hades, he unveiled an EP in 2018 with Igor Dewe and collaborated notably with Bilal Hassani on his Marathon video. Shortly afterwards, François Sagat met artist, composer and DJ Tommy Marcus and decided to collaborate with him on his very first musical project as a solo author and performer.
On his first album, Videoclub, due for release on July 7, François reveals his innermost feelings and dreams, and brings them to life with the talent and experience of an unrivalled sound designer. From the vibrancy and freedom of disco, the energy and madness of the 80s, to the superb 90s and the discovery of house and underground culture, Videoclub flies over 30 years of fantasy and pop culture. Like the soundtrack to our youth, this album recounts our adolescent passions before the age of the Internet.
